Just seven days before the Kiss Cancer Good-Bye walk!

Just seven days before the Kiss Cancer Good-Bye walk
There are so many reasons that Gellerman Orthodontics is hoping you’ll join the Kiss Cancer Good-Bye walk.
We walk to support the American Cancer Society in the war against cancer.
We walk to celebrate the gift of life for those who are cancer survivors
We walk to honor those who are struggling right now to fight cancer
We walk to remember those we love who were taken from us by cancer
Come join us, and help us to make a difference.

Join Our First Annual Kiss Cancer Good-Bye Walk

Come join us at a family friendly event that will raise important funds and awareness in the fight against cancer on Saturday, September 29, from 11 AM – 2 PM.  Excitement is building for the First Annual Kiss Cancer Good-Bye Walk as more sponsors and supporters come on board.
We’ll have massages from Massage on the Run, the holistic wellness center located on Wall Street, offering complementary massages to sooth tired muscles after a walk around Heckscher Pond.  Arrive early and enjoy the live entertainment from No Regrets!, dance performances from area kids at local dance studios and don’t forget your lavender hair extension from Cactus Salon in Huntington.

What color is your ribbon?

What color is your ribbon?  Everyone knows that pink is for breast cancer, yellow is to show support for our soldiers and MIA/POWs, a pattern of jigsaw puzzle pieces is for autism, and a flag pattern is for the  victims and heroes of the 9/11 attacks.
Our color is lavender – representing all cancers because our event is being held to support the American Cancer Society (ACS), a national, community-based voluntary health organization dedicating to eliminating cancer as a major health problem.  That’s a big task – and we are proud to be a member of the ACS team.
Here are some colors that you may not be used to seeing:
  • Amber – Appendix Cancer
  • Marigold, Blue or Purple- Bladder Cancer
  • Teal and white - Cervical Cancer
  • Gold – Childhood Cancer
  • Dark Blue – Colon Cancer
  • Periwinkle – Esophageal Cancer
  • Grey – Brain Cancer
  • Teal – Ovarian Cancer
  • Orange – Leukemia and other Blood Cancers

Thinking about how many colors are used to represent so many different kinds of cancers can be overwhelming.  There are so many different kinds of cancer, and this disease strikes so many of the people we love.  That’s why we are urging you to sign up, bring your friends and family, and take part in the first annual Kiss Cancer Good-Bye walk.
Walk in memory of a loved one, walk in celebration of a survivor – come out and show your support!

Why are we doing a Kiss Cancer Good-Bye Walk?

Why are we doing a Kiss Cancer Good-Bye Walk?
We don’t know anyone whose lives have not been touched by cancer.   A family member, a beloved friend, an acquaintance at work - we all know someone who has received the dreaded diagnosis and treatment for this disease.  Some have lived, only to find themselves confronting another cancer diagnosis years later.  Others have lost the fight.
We want to help make a difference in the fight against cancer, and that’s why Gellerman Orthodontics decided to undertake our very own event.  We hope that you will join us and along the way, we’re sure to have some fun, create memories of a great day and support an important cause.
Sign up today to walk and bring your friends – we can’t wait to see you!
